REBECCA MOSS GUYVER
20 - 21st Aug | 10th - 11th Sept | 24th - 25th Sept
Rebecca Moss Guyver is fearless with colour whether working in egg tempera or pastel, fused plastic or in recycled books.
A native New Yorker, Rebecca has been living in Suffolk for about twenty years. Her pieces can be read as stories, colour studies or simply as tapestries of marks. Observational drawing is at the heart of her practice.
Rebecca describes herself as ‘obsessed' by pattern’ and sees objects in her pieces as characters in a drama. The Main landscape, charity shop finds, fruit and text are favourite motifs. She has many influences, but the Nabis and Indian miniatures are always key.
Rebecca has a BA in painting and drawing from Stanford University where her professors were members of the Bay Area Figurative movement. she shows regularly at the Mall Galleries in London and in East Anglia. In 2022 she was shortlisted for the Holly Bush Painting Prize and longlisted for the Jackson Painting Prize.
